Identity Design for a Consultancy firm committed to undoing the gender divide at workplaces. Ungender helps companies with PoSH Compliance, DEI Advisory, and other related services.

BRIEF
Ungender started as an advisory firm that enables leaders to build inclusive & equitable workplaces for all genders. They were and still are among a few firms that provide these services in India.
Their previous visual identity (created in-house) was bland, but it served them in their initial years of testing and operations. Once they scaled their operations, they wanted a professional visual identity re-design.
INSIGHTS
During our discussions, it was clear to me that their work involved a lot of educating and re-educating of people about these sensitive issues – especially the do’s and don’ts. This observation led to the idea of creating a visual system that can become a conversation starter and a tool of communication for their brand. We also wanted to avoid any gender related symbols since the definition of gender depends on the cultural context a person.
SOLUTION
We created a logotype that has a strike-through on the word 'gender', to create a visual pun and to reinforce the message of creating workspaces where gender shouldn’t determine how people are treated. The identity system is made of red strike-through and green underline, which their team can easily use in their brand communication. This visual language was also used to create conversational brand merchandise.
