Jujurana
The Jujurana, or Western Tragopan, is Himachal Pradesh's state bird and a symbol of its rich biodiversity. Known as the "King of Birds," its vibrant plumage and rarity have inspired local folklore. Found in protected areas like the Great Himalayan National Park, it highlights the region’s ecological wealth and the need for conservation to preserve Himachal's natural heritage.
Metal Craft
Himachal Pradesh's brass metal craft is known for its detailed designs, with artisans creating idols of deities that are an important part of the region's culture and traditions. This craft has been passed down through generations, keeping the heritage alive. Meeting master craftsman Kurmiji, who shared his passion for this art, gave us a special insight into this age-old tradition.
Artifact
Inspired by the majestic Jujurana, we partnered with Kurmiji to create a one-of-a-kind memento blending modern design with his age-old brass metal craft. From a digital sketch, the vision came alive in Kurmiji's workshop, where he turned the idea into art. The final piece, a tribute to Himachal's natural beauty and craftsmanship, was packaged in simple boxes, featuring a drawing of the Jujurana in hues drawn from the region's vibrant palette.
